Digital Printing

Custom Printed Bags From 500 per Design

Digital printing goes straight from your file to the press. No engraved cylinders, no plate charges, and no reason to order ten thousand bags of a flavor you have not proven yet.

  • 500 bag minimum per design
  • No plate or cylinder charges
  • Fast turnarounds and easy reprints

What Changes When There Are No Plates

Traditional packaging printing starts with engraving a set of cylinders, one per color, for every single design. That engraving is a real cost and it has to be paid before the first bag comes off the press, which is why conventional minimums are measured in tens of thousands. Digital printing removes that step entirely. The file goes to the press and the press prints it. Once the plate cost disappears, so does the reason for a huge minimum, and a small pet brand can have a genuinely custom bag.

Where Digital Wins

It is not simply a cheaper way to print. It changes what you are able to do as a brand.

  • Many flavors, modest volumeEach recipe gets its own bag without its own plate bill.
  • Testing and iterationPrint a run, learn from the shelf, change the art, print again.
  • Seasonal and limited editionsShort runs that would never justify cylinders.
  • Lower inventory riskOrder what you need instead of warehousing years of bags.

Our comparison post, stock versus custom, covers where digital sits between the two.

Quality and What to Expect

Digital is a production printing method, not a compromise, but it is worth knowing how it behaves.

Full-Bleed Color

Edge to edge printing across every panel, including gussets, with photographic detail.

Consistent Reprints

The same file produces the same bag months later, with no cylinder to wear or re-engrave.

Versioning Built In

Run several flavors in one production pass, which is how multi-SKU pet brands keep costs sane.

Same Materials

Digital does not limit you to lesser films. The barrier conversation is unchanged.

Printing on brown kraft behaves differently from printing on white film, whatever the press. Plan for an opaque white layer if your art needs to read bright.
