Pouches Built for Everything That Pours
Wet food has taken shelf space from cans for one simple reason: a pouch is lighter, easier to open, and easier to portion. We build wet food pouches for stews, pates, gravies, broths, and liquid supplements.
- Spouted and flat single-serve builds
- Retort-ready structures
- Food-safe, direct-contact materials
Why Pouches Took Over Wet Food
A can is heavy, expensive to ship, and awkward to open and store once it is. A pouch ships flat until it is filled, weighs almost nothing by comparison, tears open without a tool, and portions cleanly into a bowl. For the pet owner it is simply easier, and for a brand it is usually cheaper to ship and far better to print on. The engineering catch is that a pouch holding liquid has to survive a filling and sterilization process that a dry bag never faces, which is where the structure matters.
Formats for Wet and Liquid
What the food does in the bowl decides the shape of the pouch.
Built to Hold Liquid and Survive Processing
Wet food asks different questions of a pouch than kibble does. It is heavier for its size, it is wet against the seal, and most wet recipes are sterilized in the pack after filling.

- Strong bottom gussetsA filled liquid pouch puts real load on the base.
- Reliable sealsLiquid near a seal is the hardest test a bag gets.
- Spouts and fitmentsResealable pouring for multi-serve and liquid products.
If you also run dry lines, our cat food packaging guide covers how wet and dry sit together in one brand.
